Cooperation between the internal affairs agencies of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan is developing


On July 1, 2019, in order to strengthen cooperation, representatives of the internal affairs agencies of the border regions of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan met in the city of Khujand, Sogd oblast.

Members of the Uzbek delegation at the border post "Fotekhobod" of the Matchinsky District were met by the Head of the Organization and Inspection Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Militia Major General Soliev Karim Khodzhievich, Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Sugd Region, Militia Major General Nazarzoda Qudratullo Bobo, Chairman of Matchoh District Azizzoda Gairat.


A working meeting with the participation of cross-border divisions of the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the two sides began in a small hall of the Office of the Ministry of Interior in Sughd region.

It should be noted that the Republic of Tajikistan in the areas of republican subordination, Sugd and Khatlon regions borders on Samarkand, Tashkent, Fergana, Sirdarin, Djizak and Surkhandar regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and heads of the internal affairs agencies of these regions took part in the meeting.
The delegation of Tajikistan under the leadership of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Militia Major General Navdzhuvonov Abdullo Shanbievich and the delegation led by Colonel Norghitov Shuhratom Irkinovichem, Head of the Organizational Department of the MIA of the Republic of Uzbekistan, took part in this meeting.


This meeting is a continuation of cooperation in the framework of adopted programs at the state level, which were signed by the Ministers of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan, Militia Colonel General Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro and Uzbekistan, Major-General Bobojonov Pulat Razzakovich, to further develop cooperation, exchange experience and strengthen friendship between the two fraternal states and countering crime.

The meeting addressed issues aimed at combating transnational crime, terrorism, extremism, illicit drug trafficking, human trafficking, the exchange of operational information, assistance in apprehending wanted criminals, preventing the smuggling of goods and products, unauthorized border crossing, the spread of extremist ideas involvement of civil society in the fight against crime and other relevant topics in the sphere of activity of the Internal Affairs Department of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. To enhance the cooperation of the internal affairs agencies of the two countries, a protocol was signed following this meeting.


It was stressed that such meetings are regularly organized, it timely examines and solves existing problems. Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan expressed their readiness for further cooperation.
